Query submitted

This is a unique and fanciful Chinse export famille rose decorated koi fish tureen with a dark blue enamel ground and a butterfly and floral motif. The handle is formed into a smaller fish painted in underglaze red-orange. There are 8 butterflies featured on the top of the tureen. The bottom is concave and unglazed. It has an apocryphal Qianlong mark. The tureen is thought to date to the 2nd or 3rd quarter of the 20th century. Actual age is unknown. There is no damage.

The tureen is 15 inches long and approximately 7 inches wide. It is heavily potted, weighing about 5.5 lbs. However, there is still a very nice ring when tapped.

The weight listed is in consideration of packkagine required for safe shipment.
