This Handcrafted Yixing Teapot is signed by the artist with a seal mark to the base of the pot and a mark inside the lid. The mark in the lid looks similar to Feng Zi's mark but it is not distinct and cannot be confirmed. The pot is in the form of leaves with a caterpillar on a leaf as the the lid and knob. It is a very interesting and unique form that is well crafted. The handle of the pot is a traditional shape that widens slightly from top to bottom. It is a very nice teapot to add to a collection.
The age of the pot is unknown but there are definite signs of age and use, especially on the base. It is definitely vintage and possibly antique. However, there is no provenance other than it was included in a teapot collection with other pots that have a verifiable date between 1903 to 1920.
There is no damage to the pot. It measures 6.25 x 5 x 3 inches
