This one has 15% garlic, far more than you’ll find in any commercial tomato sauce (yes, Greeks love their garlic!)…and there’s no added water. Importantly, there are no artificial flavors or colorants, nor any preservatives or additives, so do give a good stir if needed.
We love the thick, velvety texture as a rich base for pizza, bruschetta, as a tapenade or rich dip. We add a bit of olive oil and cooking water for a simple yet highly aromatic pasta sauce. Make an easy stovetop shrimp youvetsi, or use it to prepare our friend Corinne's Terrine de Legumes, aka vegetable terrine. If you have some leftover sauce, use it to make an easy tomato jelly!
