Orzo pasta, or kritharaki in Greek, is in every Greek pantry because its rich egg and milk flavor make for the ideal quick and hearty meal. Bronze die-cut and made from durum wheat semolina, fresh pasteurized eggs and whole milk (not powdered!), this pasta is tasty enough to be enjoyed plain, with a drizzle of olive oil and dash of lemon. Importantly, there are no preservatives, additives, artificial flavors nor colorants. 

We love kritharáki as a more robust alternative to rice, a perfect accompaniment to any dish with a nice sauce, or in hearty soups. The unique shape gives a firm texture unlike mass-produced orzo. The 500gr. package translates to 1.1lbs., 10% more than the standard pasta packs. While there is a suggested cooking time on the pack, try it for yourself and cook to taste, especially if you like your pasta “al dente”.
