This 18th C Mandarin Chinese Porcelain Vase is a very fine example of quality export porcelain. It is decorated with alternate river scenes that capture an idealistic view of the life of a fisherman. The top border has a geometric design that circles the neck and has to underglaze blue bands beneath. This is followed by a band of scrolling foliage in gold on a red background. The next border is an intricate design of the diaper pattern within large ruyi heads surrounding a small flower blossom. This vase offers several other beautiful designs and details that are even more stunning in hand. Circa 1775
There is wear to the gilt and loss of enamel in some areas as well as other signs of age and wear as shown in the pictures. There is also what appears to be professional repair to the neck. It is only seen faintly using UV light.
The vase is approximately 10 inches tall and 4 inches across the body.
