The “CVA” in CVA Products stands for Trang Nguyen’s three children: Charlotte, Vincent and Alex. As she searched for a cream to help her twins’ eczema, Trang realized the thing she needed to do was to start a business to bring important, hard-to-find products to market. As you peruse CVA Products on TheWMarketplace, you’ll see a variety of soaps, candles, creams and toys that reflect the needs and interests of her young family.

TheWMarketplace recently interviewed Trang and asked her a few questions about being a female entrepreneur. Read Her Story and then shop some of CVA Products awesome homemade and curated offerings.

Why motivated you to start CVA Products?

Our twins have been suffering from eczema since birth. They have been on different prescriptions, creams and skin products, but nothing worked until we came across Bend Soap's products. Their products work great in reducing the eczema that my twins have for years. Unfortunately, Bend Soap isn't available locally. As a parent, I know how other parents have been through similar situations. I wanted to share this great product with our community. The purpose of this shop is to share great products that we found, that we have made by hand and that have experienced daily in our family.

What is something you know now that you wish you knew when you started your business?

Finance and marketing are very important when starting the business. I knew nothing about marketing and was not prepare for the finance until I wanted to expand the business and that's when I began to struggle a little.

What has been the most challenging thing about getting your business up and running?

Starting a business is not an easy thing. It looks so simple, but there is a lot of legal paperwork to go through if you want to do it properly. Trying to set up ecommerce was the most challenging for me since I did not know where to start and how to get traffic.

How long have you been in business?

CVA Products established in February of 2021. Taking the feedback from our customers and supporters, our goal this year has expanded a little. Not only will we carry great handmade products from others, but we also expanded our line of natural products. We aren't only handmade natural candles and room sprays, but we also will have beer soaps, oat milk soaps, coffee soaps, tea soaps, bar lotions, sunscreen bar lotions, castile soaps, shampoo, freshies, etc. Unlike the other products that you've known, our target is to focus on non-chemical products for sensitive skins as much as possible.

What communities have been important for you as you’ve developed CVA Products?

I'm supporting local nonprofit charities within North Forth Worth Area, Texas. Without the support from the local folks, it would be difficult for local business owners to make it through.

Why did you decide to join TheWMarketplace?

I joined TheWMarketplace because I want other women to know that when a woman has an inspiration, follow it.
