Angella Sprauve, Founder and CEO of Auvê Beauty, drew inspiration from her Caribbean heritage and career as a product innovator to create a skincare brand that offers natural, potent, lifestyle-driven products for women. Auvê Beauty stands out with its use of Guyanese Bootlace Bark extract, reflecting Sprauve's upbringing and offering potent anti-aging benefits. Established officially in 2019, Angella is continuously evolving her products, with recent updates including a rebranding and relaunch in September 2023, featuring new formulations and products like the Porecelain™ Skin Refining Serum. Why did you start your business? What motivated or inspired you?
The brand’s history began with my unique heritage. Growing up on both coasts to parents with Caribbean roots, I have culture and rituals that are close to my heart. I created my brand name, Auvê® from my last name, Sprauve. Then, as my career as a product innovator progressed, I saw a need for women like me who desire natural, potent, lifestyle-driven products to empower her in life; and Auvê® Beauty was born.

Why did you decide to join The WMarketplace?
WMarketplace is a fabulous group of like-minded female entrepreneurs, and I wanted to be part of a community where I could network, collaborate, and learn from other women. I love that we share many of the same goals.
What has been the most exciting or rewarding part of owning your own business?
I'm so proud and excited to have the first skincare brand that features Guyanese Bootlace Bark extract as the main ingredient across the product line. It has many potent, anti-aging benefits that will have a radiant impact on skincare routines everywhere. It is so rewarding to bring an element of my upbringing into the world.

How long have you been in business and has your business changed since you started it?
Auvê Beauty became official in 2019, but I had been ideating and perfecting the formulas ever since I became a cosmetic chemist out of university. As a product developer, I'm always looking to improve wherever necessary. Eventually, the original formulations were updated to the latest clean beauty standards and technology. Most recently in September, 2023, we rebranded and relaunched with a new look, new website, and a new product in the lineup, the Porecelain™ Skin Refining Serum.
